Our History

The firm of Ceresa M Frenkel, P.C. was established October 1, 1997. Ceresa M. Frenkel began the firm with one additional employee. The firm has grown since its inception to a total of 5 people. The firm consists of 1 shareholder, 2 senior accountants, 1 staff accountant and 1 administrative manager. We are proud of the fact that our staff accountants have been with our firm for many years. We believe this offers our clients the ability to develop a professional rapport with our staff, which leads to a more efficient audit.

Our People

Ceresa M. Frenkel began her career in the public accounting field in 1981. Upon graduation from the University of South Alabama, she joined a large local firm, which later merged with a regional firm covering the southeast; she became a partner with a large local firm on January 1, 1985. She left that firm in 1997 to establish the existing firm. Ms. Frenkel became a certified public accountant in 1983. Since then, she has continued her education and in 1990 completed the requirements to be a certified financial planner. Ceresa has extensive experience in audits, reviews, and compilations for closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations, taxation of individuals, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations, and financial planning. She also represents clients in front of the Internal Revenue Service and the Alabama Department of Revenue. Ms. Frenkel specializes in auditing for not-for-profit organizations having both the education and experience to audit under Governmental Auditing Standards (Yellow Book and Single Audits).  She was named Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1986 and Who's Who in Executives and Businesses in 1999-2000. Ms. Frenkel is a member of the American Society of CPA's, Alabama Society of CPA's, Career Women of Mobile, and International Association of Financial Planners. She has served as president of the local chapters of the Alabama Society of CPA's and the American Society of Women Accountants. She is active on the board of various other civic associations. Daniel R Williams, Senior Accountant
Daniel joined the firm in October 2004. Daniel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Auburn University in 2004. Mr. Williams specializes in providing accounting services including payroll and general ledger maintenance; taxation of individuals, corporations, and not-for-profits; preparation of financial statements (including audits, reviews, and compilations for closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations); and QuickBooks support and assistance to the Firm’s clients. Andrew Frenkel, Senior Accountant
Andrew joined the firm in January 2000. He is currently working to complete his Masters in Accounting at the University of South Alabama. In addition to his office management duties, Andrew has gained extensive experience in computerized payroll and bookkeeping, payroll and sales tax compliance, and business taxation. Our Credentials

The firm has an excellent growth pattern and reputation in the community. It underwent a quality control review in 2006 and 2009 receiving a peer review rating of pass. The firm services primarily clients in the States of Alabama and Florida. Our work is composed of approximately 20% audit, 30% tax, 30% general accounting and financial preparation, and 20% consulting and other projects. We serve clients in various industries including wholesale distribution, retail sales, construction contractors, non-profit organizations multi-unit franchisees and various other industries. We perform audits, accounting, tax, management advisory services, personal financial planning and other special projects.

Our offices are fully computerized with the most modernized equipment. All CPA's maintain a high degree of professionalism and maintain the minimum requirement of 40 hours per year of continuing professional education. The accountants in our firm performing audits under the Single Audit Act obtain 80 hours every two years in governmental accounting and auditing.
